If you mean in general, that's why people play Skyrim and Fallout.
If you mean for Quake 2, it's because it's Quake 2 and it's not for everyone and it's pretty boring if you're not playing with expansion/modded enemies. I've been playing it this way for awhile, this and the Disguise skins are great and the animations are fun.
