Anyone have any retro games that you traditionally play during the summer? Pic related for me since it takes place on my birthday(July 24th)

was it really necessary to have saves be expendable

I beat it right after and unlocked the stupid rocket launcher, which was not a problem since I love playing Resident Evil, but I just wanted to be done for the evening...

Reminded me of an even more soulcrushing moment where RE2 kept me up until 8 in the morning:

>doing no-save A rank runs
>always getting fucked by the very last Lickers in the game (if not by tram fight Birkin)
>keep retrying, wasting hours every time I die
>have to watch the same dumbass unskippable cutscenes every time
>eventually I get by the stupid lickers
>decide to save this one time, just want it to be over with
>get to typewriter
>PS2 overheats and shuts off right before I can do it
>sit there silently staring at my TV for a full minute while still holding the controller
