I know they patched Iron Maiden out of the game at some point, but that whole experience soured me on HC games quite tremendously. I don't get too much enjoyment out of permadeath modes in games which you can burn endless hours on. It just hurts too much.
Got no problem with permadeath on rogue-likes of course because there's generally less time/effort investment.
