The beginning of AAAslop made by hundreds of people with an inflated marketing budget. I can't consider it retro.

What is the best version of FF7 to play nowadays? PS1? PC with mods? Remaster?

Lets just get FF7 out of the way. Truly a masterpiece. I always thought it was overrated until I actually played it myself.

This really sucks, and the music especially sucks. Was it one of those games that was fresg in its time but didn’t hold up? I was told it’s a masterpiece.

What was it about this game that made normalfags suddenly pay attention to the Final Fantasy franchise when they didn't care before? Was it just hype?

What retro game had the BEST plot in your opinion? I have never been one to care about plot, but I got more interested in it recently. Pic semi-related, I haven't played much more beside it.

How old were you when you "understood" how JRPGs worked? I had played them since I was eleven but I had no idea how the mechanics actually worked until I was maybe 13 or 14

I'm finally playing this for the first time right now, anything I should know going in?

Were people back in the day confused about the series randomly jumping from 3 to 7, or were the japan-only games common knowledge by that point?

This game would have been absolutely mogged by EarthBound 64 had it not been cancelled.

I started FF7 some time ago, and I like it so far. But is trying to 100% this game supposed to be pure hell? I always hear that "FF is easy" and "FF7 has no gameplay", but it seems that if you want to max out all materia, get all enemy skills, all items and so on, there's A LOT of stuff to grind and even more stuff you wouldn't know without a guide. Right now I'm wondering if I should try to take on that water snake just to get an enemy skill from it.

When does FF7 even start giving you gameplay "for real"? I'm at a stage past Cloud's bath rape / crossdressing, and so far the game feels like one large scripted event with 5 minutes of gameplay between every new plot sequence. This is getting tiresome.
While we're at it, is FF8 the same?
