FireRed and LeafGreen are definitely improvements on the originals. I don't know if they are the definitive versions and best way to experience the games due to parts of the game being completely changed.

We're going to buy two GBA SPs with my friend and I wondered which version from Pokemon series should we choose for pokemon trading via link cable in the first place? Ruby & Sapphire? Emerald? FireRed & LeafGreen?

Also I'm looking for other games with cooperative elements on GBA.
