Barinade has a great design, tons of attacks, and just feels like a proper finale (until the return trips) for the child portion of the game. A lot of craftsmanship went into Phantom Ganon and Volvagia as well, with the former even having a special attack he only brings out when two normal sword swings away from dying. I liked the Ganondorf fight a ton, but I feel he needed some "aim your shots" component like his phantom's fight had, in addition to him being at least as good as, and preferably better than to a consistent degree, his phantom at energy tennis.

In the original N64 version of Ocarina of Time, Ganondorf's cape will take more damage than in the later versions of the game. If you get Ganondorf to one hit away from death but refuse to use the Master Sword, Giant's Knife (any version), the Biggoron Sword, or the Megaton Hammer on him, it's possible to keep him alive with 0 health. Using arrows, bombs, Bombchu, Din's Fire, etc., it's possible to continue damaging Ganondorf and tearing apart his cape. In one Japanese video the cape even effectively vanishes save for two pixels of cloth. Unfortunately I can't find the video, as the name was entirely in Kanji.
