It was the first 32X game I ever played and still my favorite, though I also really like Virtua Fighter Deluxe, After Burner, and Shadow Squadron. Think it gets a lot of hate because it's a 32X game and not technically by Sonic Team, but it's still fun imo. I always thought Mighty was cool. Also lame that it wasn't included in Sonic Origins Plus.

If you really want to make people seethe you can also let them know this game is one of the reasons there's no proper Sonic game on Saturn, since it was moved there before going to 32X

They do have a lot of similarities but Dreamcast does have the advantage of having a lot of arcade ports similar to Saturn. Pretty much it's what Saturn should have been, even in the 90's this was basically the consensus

Based on how anon phrased it, it sounds like he probably isn't that far into the game yet. I agree Cosmic Wall is super fun though. Tails levels also probably have some of the best music in the game, especially Rumbling HWY and On the Edge. Now I kind of want to play these games again lol

SA1 was like a comeback of sorts for Sonic and for SEGA after all we got was 3D Blast and NiGHTS on the Saturn. The long four year gap was finally closed with a proper 3D Sonic game we waited an entire console generation for. I think playing a bunch of Saturn games helped me appreciate the Adventure games and the Dreamcast even more than before. Saturn is great but SA1 alone is better than a lot of the games on it imo, to say nothing of its sequel, the Crazy Taxi games, Jet Set Radio, etc. It was the comeback SEGA needed, even if it didn't last long.
