Glass tube has an under lying quality of being depicted through glass.
That's its primary visual aspect elaborations to which are the metal casings.
Without the glass, the psychic visual image of tube falls apart there ending up nothing to put in correspondence with deformed metal casings astray.
The image of the glass tube with there being no glass falls apart there ending up being nothing to recognize in the deformed metal casings glassless.
Exploding the tube produces glass shards that start blinking then leave the visual field without the trace.
The implication is they have once blinked and then despawned from around those casings astray.
There are no glass shards lying around after all.
The underlying aspect of deformed metal casings is deformed metal. Non-existing doesn't enter that personal image there being no way to foresee your subsequently stumbling upon glass tube intact.
You imprint deformed metal casings as metal, you imprint the glass tube as effectively glass. By the time the shards blink away, the puzzle is obsolete, that you got they have also blinked there does not constitute any gameplay difference.
Imprints differing in underlying aspect, the requirement to equalize them is an offense over UNDERLINING itself, as such, in an abstract and generality.

The shattered tubes don't have any glass shards, and the metal casings on the are disfigured and partly evaporated as well, so they are not readily recognizable as former parts of a similar tube.

Time for a Super-Metroid-related completely-OP-post-unrelated essay of sorts.

For me the defining moment of SuperMetroid is the infamous glass tube puzzle.

The main hint for that puzzle is that prior to the intact glass tube, you encounter the tube that has already been blown up.
