If Saturn was a 2D powerhouse why was the best 2D game of the gen on the '64?

Has anybody else had this happen to their copy of Mischief Makers? The game played normally until 2-11 (Migen Brawl) where it started to freeze consistently for no reason at all. After a thousand resets I finally had it not do that to me and I am now on 3-2 and it still does the retarded consistent freezing! Ive done everything like Alcohol and Qtip and remove the expansion pak or whatever and it still gives me dumb problems. No other N64 game does this, its only MM.

Any other game with controls similar to this? I like the freedom and how you feel like you can "do anything" if you're good enough.

I hated Mischief Makers long before I ever played it. The box art is plain disgusting. The worst of the worst, in fact. It was so creepy my 18-year-old self was immediately repulsed by it - forever dooming my opinion of this game to negativity.
