Had both.

Got a SNES first, but a Sega fan friend of mine convinced me to get one.
He remained a Sega fanboy and somewhat made fun of Nintendo, but he and his 18 year old brother always wanted to borrow my SNES on some weekends. I even let them have the SNES for months when I got my PS1 and N64.

After a while, well into the 5th gen, they sold their old Genesis and added some extra money and got a SNES of their own. They fucking loved it. He kind of became a Nintendo fanboy, even. Although he still liked Sega.

I was always a Segatendo nerd, love both companies about the same.
