X and Rondo are both very good.

I played X first and enjoyed its pacing and more linear format. Also the fact that you can miss a jump and FALL into a secret level

Then I played Rondo of Blood and it seemed like a beefier version of that game, maybe slightly less streamlined but I loved how well the secret paths were hidden.

Bloodlines is also a great Classicvania with a faster paced, arcadey-feel. I hope one day Konami wakes from its slumber or sells the rights to Castlevania to someone competent so we can get more classicvanias.
