I usually read the synopsis on wikipedia or go the through an ign guide up to the point I left off whenever this happens. I had to do it a couple of times with persona 3, great game but tartarus gets old fast.

I’m not sure if its considered retro yet but ffx is really mediocre to me and I don’t get the hype. I can’t stand rpgs that hold your hand through the whole game it makes the experience completely linear and in my opinion the non linear gameplay is what makes the genre fun to begin with.
