probably, the issue is there is a lever which multiplies the force needed to activate the switch, so more leverage on the button part should help.

you don't even notice the disc part in use because the d-pad is raised up, so it feels like just a regular d-pad.

I just spent another hour fucking with the SP and mutilating it, I cut out one of the rubber grommets on the d-pad rubber and I'm not sure it did anything. I think it did, but it's hard to tell. when taken apart and outside the shell, the d-pad feels fine, but once it's in the shell, it's stiffer and mushier. I don't know what the fuck the problem is but it's super annoying.
