Glory of Heracles 3. It's not some amazing JRPG, in fact, it has a few random mechanics that add nothing or outright feel unfinished

But it does so many things right - like its melancholy, music, bigger than you adventure, set pieces, etc.

There are way better RPGs that OP and others could be spending their time with. Don't waste time on garbage from the NES era, look into SNES or PS1 RPGs.

As far as NES? Play Mother 1 on the GBA.

Ever heard of a story being bigger than the characters?

Pic related. I honestly don't know this games playable characters very well and there's only 5, but I love the story itself. I think CC does a better overall job with some great character designs/battle moves like Grobyc.

Well people are bragging about awful games like Dragon Quest 3 or Tales of Phantasia being "better" than Chrono Trigger, so I'm starting to feel like JRPG fans are pretty stupid

I really like Glory of Heracles 3, but it's in no way better than Chrono Trigger. (Glory of Heracles 3 is better than a lot of the mentioned games in this thread btw)
