if I had someone to introduce him to Doom, I'd make him play the vanilla games first on UV and a few map packs.
Newcomers lack the feeling of gameplay and how (fun) enemies react and attack. And this is what BD lacks.

You dont want to see newcomers getting ear raped by death screams and play with unbalanced weapons and stupid enemies that refuse to die and have OP attacks (lookin at you, darn Zombiemans and Cacos).
