In 9, X and Injustice the system is much more fluid and open to customization. Their initial implementation of it in 3 sucked. I played Injustice. A lot.

It's all good. MK is cool and I am in the top 10% of Injustice players on XBL. Don't be salty, have fun!

This. MK2 is great and I'll always personally like it better than SF2, but objectively from a gameplay standpoint it doesn't hold a candle. I love the fuck out of Injustice, but it's no KoF 98/02, or even SF2/IV when it comes down to it.

There's nothing wrong with that though, these days even the little I do right now I play Injustice more than KoF. A fighting game, or any other game doesn't have to be the best or the most popular to be awesome.

I kind of agree with this guy. Getting a blowjob while destroying people with Wonder Woman made for a pretty awesome comfy memory, but it doesn't feel like it would fit this thread. I have a fairly low opinion of nostalgia in general, but this thread is a decent way to get some stories out.

One of my comfiest memories was getting a Gameboy and Final Fantasy Legend the day before going on a long road trip. I played it so much that night that when I went to sleep all I could see were green blocks and all I could hear was the music. That's a pretty cozy memory.

>in typical NRS fashion they showed they again didn't know what to do unless it was based on the original 3 games.

While that's true, I think in MK9's case it worked well. The series had been so huge and then floundered for many years. As a kind of reboot and final perfect version of that concept I think it worked really well. X was interesting, but I wasn't really interested in more MK right now. I'm just waiting for more Injustice. That was their best game by a good margin so far in my opinion.

Funny example to use. That game was pretty bad, where as Injustice Gods Among Us was a huge hit and fantastic game. Also currently one of DC's best selling ongoing comic series.

Who cares if a whiner calls the genre bad though? They're not part of the community, other than posts on forums they don't affect anything.

The way I look at it, the more positive you are that will draw people in. If they like the games then they'll stay and if they don't they'll move onto whatever else they prefer.

The really great thing about fighters is that no matter what level you are they can be fun. And they're popular enough these days that it's not too hard to find level competition. You can strive to get better every day and you can still bet there will be someone out there who can give you a run for your money. Or you can boot them up once a week with your friends, or casually find people online and still have a blast.

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't just name it. This has already gone into kind of non-retro territory. So I wont go into it ,but that game is near perfect for my tastes.

Yeah and the old ones are still great, so there's that. And I want to be clear that I think it's good that there are people out there who did enjoy XIII, it just wasn't at all for me.

>I try my best to never buy games that release broken or have some kind of day 1 dlc. That puts a lot of 7thgen in my never buy list.

Weird. I almost never buy games when they first come out anyways, so if it was broken day 1 it doesn't matter to me. If they fixed it and it's a game I think I'll enjoy or that I liked the demo then I buy it.

Ad for DLC, I don't see what people's problems with it are. Except in the case of stuff like Mass Effect where a dlc dude was integral to the story, but I don't play those kinds of games anyways. For the most part I completely ignore DLC, like in Just Cause 2. There's an ice cream truck, a jet and a few lame guns you can buy if you want. But the game is so packed with stuff already that I never even thought about getting it. If I want a plane, I'll go hijack one. That's the game!

But sometimes I like it. With Injustice Gods Among Us, which ended up being one of my all time favorite fighters, they actually turned to the community to vote on who else we wanted in the game. It was pretty cool, and aside from Scorpion who didn't fit for me I liked all the choices.

The way I look at the DLC in that game, it was never originally going to have Lobo, Martian Manhunter or Zatanna in it. What we got in the base game was already a really solid roster, but to then have more characters able to be added was great to me. Even if I still just mained Wonder Woman anyways,
