They literally were the kind of kids who would've said shit like this. Not sure why you think it's made up, far more people have researched just this recording than you can imagine.

It's almost exact but not quite. Dylan at the end going back and the sounds of smashing, witnesses said he came back in seemingly for no reason and smashed a computer monitor on the floor before leaving the library. Everyone was hiding in there, up to then they had only killed like 2 or 3 people, they were wandering the halls and came into this room full of kids. What does Columbine have to do with it? The game was all over the news for a couple of years during and after and it was in all the game magazines and shit for years before it. Who would be dumv enough to think Doom was not popular because Eric Harris was obsessed with it?

Good point, even the id guys all invariably ended up making their houses and shit, it was a common thing to do. However, I just don't know why he wouldn't mention it in his journals or the Basement Tapes. He openly discusses their planning and the attack in the journals as well as frequently talking about Doom, making Doom doodles (pic related is one of his Doom drawings) and sketching layouts of his Doom maps. There is nothing in there about it.

They made video tapes they made showing their preperations in the weeks leading up to the attack, brief snippets of which were released. The Basement Tapes however were videos they made on the night before and the morning of the attacks, explaining why they did it, bragging about what was to come and telling police not to arrest their friends. These tapes have never and probably will never be released, most likely due to comments both made about a few specific students they hated and hoped died in the attack, some of which they actually did kill. We only know about it from a reporter who was allowed to view them and transcribed them. These were the videos where Eric said the line that got quoted a lot after "It's going to be like fucking Doom! Tick, tick, tick, tick... Haa! That fucking shotgun is straight out of Doom!"
