No new pinball machines were made during WWII. Some conversion kits were made. Aside from that, they never stopped.
Bally Williams stopped making pinball machines in 1999, but Stern Pinball kept making new pins. Eventually more manufacturers popped up.

PBA: Pretty bad
The physics on the recreation tables in FX3 are quite good. There's an adjustment you can make to make them a little harder. I think it's called Arcade mode.
I did not find the visual pinball physics to be good, but maybe there's some way to fix them. I don't know, I gave up on vpx.

Good call. That never occurred to me.

Discussion questions:
What unpopular pin do you enjoy most?
What's the oldest EM you enjoy playing? (And not just looking at the backglass)
Have you played any super-rare pinball machines?

My answers:
I think of Genesis as sort of "the best bad pinball machine."
I enjoy Apollo/Blast Off, from 1967.
I think Dragon by Interflip is the only foreign game I've ever played. Actually, I played a few other Spanish EMs at Adam Becker's house, but I can't recall them.
I've played a bunch of woodrails at various places, probably not very many people have played those. And I played the Pirates prototype with the three spinning discs.

Wait a minute... apparently there's a fifth star wars game! 350 units were made by an obscure Australian manufacturer in 1980 before it closed down! Dear god!
