I fucking love Doom but I just don't understand the appeal of this game.

It's slower (yes I know you can HUH around but the game is still slower, the creators even acknowledge this), the levels are poorly designed and short, the enemies are quite boring and uninspired, shooting feels weightless and floaty and the entire game is just a bland shit brown that's unappealing to the eye.

I get that it was a big deal back when it released because of the technology behind it, but why do people still try to claim it's some masterpiece FPS?
