I think pi3 is just better for analog output and if you get pic related it looks fantastic for arcade games
However the sbc is limited by what it can play I think
But OP doesnt want CRT so I would recommend pi4

yes great, as they are running at 240p those systems run well
there are definitely systems that don't but all you need is one of these

So, what's the main advantage between pic related and an hdmi to scart cable? I want to conect my Raspi to a CRT and I have to choose between these 2 options. I'm not willing to install the recommended customized Recalbox to play with RGBPi, btw.
I'll be ok with just an hdmi to scart cable?
