NES soundtrack for Battletoads & Double Dragon sounds objectively better than SMD port (by the same token the Cool Spot on SMD is miles ahead of shitty SNES version, despite SNES being potentially more versatile at representing real life instruments through combination of MIDI engine and samples).

It's just one port (the inital one) has gotten more love, polish and care from the dev, than the other.
