Red Dead Redemption 1 / Demon's Souls on the ps3 and Metal Gear Rising on the pc.

Currently in a big fps mood though so been playing the other games a lot less.

I'm the resident Ion Fury fag and I really love the game. The weapons feel powerful and satisfying, the level design is really good and the game's got quite a lot of substance to give you a run for your money.

I personally like how they do warn you about missing secrets in the area because well, it would be lame if you were hunting for the secrets and not knowing until after you got past it. I left hunting for secrets for subsequent playthroughs.

>her quotes are kinda lame
Well that certainly fits with Duke inspirations. I love Duke but having recently replayed the game and the expacs, most of Duke's lines boil down to ''Blow it out your ass'' when you explode enemies. Then of course you get a unique line at the end of some episodes but drawing comparisons between Ion Fury and Duke I'd honestly say Ion Fury does quite well. Different style of character but in execution I don't know much what else they could've done to ''spice her up''. Maybe a few more 'random' voice lines but overall she fine and her portrait is pretty and I like how she becomes more bloody when taking damage like wolf3d/DOOM guy.

Buy stuff on GoG when possible to support GoG and them putting more retro goodies in there.

Ion Fury put so much soul into the level design, I love the atmosphere of pretty much every map.

That was pretty cool honestly.
Especially liked the 1998 style Bombshell / Ion Fury game and the little subway scene they did with graphics that were like somewhere between ps1-ps2 graphics.

Though honestly I feel like I'm satisfied with how Ion Fury worked out graphically in the version that we did get.

I couldn't find out any hard data on if Ion Fury was successful in terms of sales I hope they were at least moderately successful since I'd like to see more games in that vein and more games from the dev team.
The level design especially made me pretty happy.

>how did you like the final boss?
Uhh... I suppose you could call it that..
Well, it was alright although I had to kinda savescum to get through it because I would get creamed so many times trying to get out of the dome after dropping bombs through the hatch.
I feel like if there was one definite mistake that Ion Fury did, it was recycling two bosses as bosses later. I understand that creating the sprites isn't easy but hoping they'll improve a bit in the expansion.
Maybe a bit more voicelines to the grunt soldiers as well or slightly differentiated by enemy type?
I think one thing that I feel like Ion Fury did arguably better than some of the boomershooters it's based on was have there be a villain that you have exchanges with every now and then through the screens to make it feel like the action is tied to something even if it's understandably light on the plot. Feels a bit more personal that way and it doesn't bog the game down with forced cutscenes etc.
Oh yeah and it's a bit unnecessary to make the player health tickautomatically down if it goes past 100 from the soda cans / pizzas since it's often not that big of a boost but eh it's not a big complaint.
The levels felt really beautiful, substantial and detailed.

Finished Ion Fury today. Really good game, looking forward to the expansion. I watched the expansion trailer and was a bit worried that they didn't show off any new weapons except for the gas grenade launcher (and I guess the bike / hovercraft ?). Hopefully new enemy types and new bosses, I thought the bosses in IF were alright but re-using all of them except the airship as bosses? Ehh, better than not having a boss at all I guess but hopefully they can have new enemies and weapons for the expansion...

That said, *really* good game, felt like I got my money's worth out of the game and probably will do another playthrough at some point.
