/vr/ - Retro Games

from what I've played I enjoy Aria and SotN, preferring the former. I just barely enjoy IV but find it to be very forgettable and ugly
SotN to me is a 7/10 carried very hard by its visuals and music
I've played Castlevania 1, 3, Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood and Dawn of Sorrow but disliked all of them, although Rondo is easily the best of these it just keeps fucking filtering me

whatever they do probably won't be pixel art, so I'd expect something ugly like Skelattack or Bloodstained. modern AAA devs seem to hate pixel art with a passion. Capcom decided to skip it with GnG Resurrection, for example
I'd prefer an Igavania type, but I doubt modern Konami can top current competitors in the genre, so they're probably best off keeping it classic. would be cool if they licensed off the IP, maybe

in 1998 i was balls deep into this game with my friends. really felt like a big adventure. MML2 was much more fun in my opinion. after MML2 released i quit playing MML entirely. i don't have any other thoughts as i haven't touched these games since the 2000s at this point.

Game journalists are never right. Aria of Sorrow is better though .
