The "SotnKindAndFair" hack is bloody brilliant and made me feel like I was playing SotN for the first time all over again. Now that bosses don't die in 5 seconds, you'll find they actually have a variety of cool attacks that you really gotta dodge.

I'm playing SotN. I played Aria / Dawn first, and I don't quite get this game. Yeah, it's same premise, but the combat feels so "vanilla". You only have your basic attack + special weapon, like holy water. You can't even cancel your attack into backdash like in Aria. At this point, Richter sounds more fun to play.
So… I guess the fun is in using those spells that have crazy button combinations, right? I read you get summons too, guess leveling them up should be fun too.

Still enjoyed it, but it's pretty clunky and very much a product of its time that paved the way for better games. Super Metroid aged better.

Why did they make it so easy?
Shield rod + iron shield special attack deletes everything, and it's something you can get like 1/3rd of the way through the game.
Even if you don't use special attacks like that, just playing normally you are basically invincible after like 20 minutes.

I don't understand why everyone creams their pants over this game. 90% of indie games are cloning this game. People get in huge shit flinging fights over this game being better than the GBA/DS games. I see memes and shit about it everywhere. There is so much fucking autism around this game. I just got the true ending and it was great, but it didn't completely blow my dick right off my pelvis. It has a lot of charm and fun shit in it, but not so much more that the GBA/DS games completely pale in comparison.

I don't even understand why indies are cloning it either. Everything that makes this game great (good music, movement, keeping things interesting, etc) can be done in any game genre/format and mindlessly making a clone will have none of those things.
