Many "fell" for them. Cheap entertainment given by loving grandparents or parents on a limited income.

They might not have been great, but for less than the price of one gameboy game, and potentially more variety than similarly priced tiger handhelds, these weren't as dumb as it seems. They fit a market need for cheap gaming.

I had a different looking one that was black and blue without a folding part, it was decent for what it was.

Reminder that pic related could actually give an average kid about a year's worth of entertainment on long assed rural bus rides.

God tier handheld game would be yahtzee.

Also, I just picked up a Lights Out game from a thrift store for $1.50. It's pretty interesting though I'm still learning.

Also, I had (as a kid) and still have a super mario world lcd watch. That was pretty fun back then too. I'm surprised it didn't give me hearing damage with how loud the beeps are.

I like Tiger electronic handheld games, especially Double Dragon.

This thing was a godsend for a ruralfag who had like an hour long bus ride.
