There is a large divide between people running FF1-3+5, DQ1-4, and the alike vs: Any somewhat modern form of JRPG.

One involves excessive grind planning, heavy usage of modern step count techniques, possibly encounter manipulation. Possibly with unsafe dungeon dives for optional or lategame items out of order.
The other involves very optimal and unsafe strats to experience the story cutscenes and bosses as fast as possible. Depending on how the games work, some even lack grinding segments.
