had good memories of playing through ff6 with my guidebook, then I bought FF9 and that and was just like wtf man. those were dialup days too, I wasn't going to constantly run back and forth to my computer, go through the whole connection process to AOL, go to the website, memorize/print the next section, then log out

besides, if you're just going to print a strategy guide them gamefaqs was already a thing
