sega hires you to port 21 games to the genesis mini (sega cd and 32x games count). what games would it be and is that list better than what the snes classic edition has to offer?

You should be using a model 1 genesis with the stereo audio port on the front of the console if you want better sound.

I recently purchased a Sega Genesis advertised as working off ebay, and it sort of works.
Whenever there is a controller plugged in, it starts pressing down and doesn't stop.
This happens in either port.

Do I need to buy a soldering kit?

This is hard for me to beat a game without a Level Select or Save System... For example, Aladdin or Vectorman, on the begging I used to have a lot of trouble beating the whole game without an emulator saving system! But now, I can get pretty far on those without this system (Last boss on Aladdin, and Rollerbob on Toy Story). However it is still highly annoying.

It's far easier for me to start with a level select or original save feature, getting better, and start again without this (If the game is not too long). I hate having to input a cheat to level select.

So is there a proper list of Genesis games that have the save system please? I only know five... Sonic 3, Sonic 3 and Knuckles (Of course), Phantasy Star IV, Beyond Oasis, and Shining Force.

What the hell is this I'm reading about the Genesis having different revisions and some have horrible sound and some don't?

From what I could find, the best bet is a later revision Model 1?

Here's my setup.
Model 1 Sega Genesis with RGB Scart.
C sync Scart lead to bnc
DVDO vp30 w deinterlace card
VGA lead to LCD TV

I get no picture.
The funny thing is, my Saturn displays just fine using the same setup and its rgb scart lead.

This genesis setup works fine on my pvm straight rgb as well as through component using a cyp converter (genuine).

Suggestions?

What is your guys' favorite retro console, style wise? For me it's this sexy beast.
