Do any quake source ports support tracker module files? (.mod, .it, .xm)

I'd love to make a slowly evolving soundtrack for my mod, perhaps covering the average play time of a map (12 minutes). A .wav file of that length would be unnecessarily large to distribute.

And why? I just had trouble setting up Retroarch on my PC when I first tried it and felt so dumb I couldn't get to have my DS4 work with it, despite it working with any other game or app. Although I see that RA is far more customizable, which tempts me to try it again.

So I have played the first 2 episodes of Doom, and did like the gameplay, but I felt that after a while I got bored because I felt like there was no inherent motive to get to the finish. Heck, I have even finished Quake, but I can't bring myself to play more Doom.
Is Heretic more interesting? Strife? Or I should just drop it and play other games?
