weeks ago i remember seeing a topic here about someone complaining about the court trial and that you have no way of knowing those small things you did were going to reward or punish you.
hes right.
you have no idea that eating that chicken was gonna bite you in the ass or leading that cat to the girl was gonna reward you. however here the devs were AWARE of that which is why your not PUNISHED for doing the bad things but are rewarded for doing the good ones. ultimately the game still progresses the same. the devs are just teasing and having fun with you. the reward isnt even that big to warrant restarting the log nor would break the game obtaining it in future playthroughs. its like a mid ether something.
if this were cross failing the trail would result in fargos massive ship somehow crashing into this island. destroying darios hut and him, locking you from getting mastermune in that log BUT it would be done in such a way you had no way of knowing the trial triggered it. because why would it?
