No, ADB is working on a whole series of Abaddon books that will stretch to like 2020. They aren't killing the main hero. The Black Legion series book 1 "Talon of Horus" have distinction of being the only BL book to have its limited edition book sold out in a single day within a few hours of its release. Not even the Primarch limited books get sold in a single day.

We made a leader of a fool, a champion born of a failure, we March to under the shadow of defeat.

Perhaps we should have never leave the eye and decay in our hedonist empires and gorge in our perversion

Now we bleed like we used in the past, we struggle in defiance and even if the long war is prove to be our undoing, we'll make sure the galaxy burns and the the false Emperor's dream dies under the gods laugh

Do not mistake the intentions of this war, we don't March to reclaim, we March out of bitter hatred, for a realm long denied and as their creators, we might as well watch it die in our grasp.

Last year, GW released Warzone Fenris: Curse of the Wulfen and Warzone Fenris: Wrath of Magus, which began inching the plot forward. January of this year they began the Gathering Storm (Fall of Cadia, Fracture of Biel-Tan, Rise of the Primarch) series, which resolves the 13th Black Crusade, the bith of Ynnead and the return of Roboute Gulliman.

They then threw in a 100 years-and-a-bit timeskip between that and the setting as it stands in 8th edition.

The answer is that, of the handful of primarchs that could act as wide ranging leaders for a new imperium (lion, dorn, girlyman), girlyman would take the most offense at the imperium's current state given how hard he pushed for a meritocratic libertarian utopian society, and drama is a good thing.

That's a tricky question.

The simple answer is 112.M42. The events of the Gathering Storm were in the last year of the 41st millenium and the Indomitus crusade has lasted 112 years. Therefore, 112.M42.

But! In Dark Imperium we get this passage

>During the Great Crusade and the Heresy, the standard dating system had provided some idea of the order of events over time, but like everything else the Emperor had created, the calendar had become degraded by both dogmatic adherence and thoughtless revisionism. Various rival dating systems had evolved from the Imperial Standard, making a true chronicle of the galaxy almost impossible to construct. By the five main factional variants, Guilliman calculated the current year to be anywhere between early M41 and a millennium later, and that was leaving out the numerous lesser, more heretical interpretations.

Which suggests we may get a reordering of the calender from Big Bobby G. It wouldn't surprise me if GW redates things to make the current date fall into the 41st millennium to keep the branding in-line with the in-universe date.

Quick question if I may.

How did big G make it to Baal in time to reinforce the ground fighting, or at all?

Baal, as far as I'm aware is on the very Fucked sided of the rift correct?

How did he get there, or anyone on that side get anywhere when they can't see the Astronomicon?

I'm honestly dead curious about what is going on fluffwise but haven't found jack yet.

Is it that thing he used during the Horus Heresy for his private empire?

Even then, since there is only two known stable routes to cross, in the galatic north and south. How again, did he get there in time to help in the ground battle that was racing BEFORE the rift apeared?

Even as they were fighting with her full power, it's said that Celestine was no match for Abaddon which goes to show how much of a weakling the Emperor is if he cannot empower his chosen to defeat a mere marine.

>>lost huge portions of his army on a pointless pissing match over a planet he didn't even end up getting

Abaddon armies dwarf anything Horus ever commanded. Those losses are nothing and his aim wasn't getting the planet. It was blowing it up.

>>in losing the planet he wasted so much manpower and effort getting he lost his springboard and foothold into realspace

The fuck are you on about, dumbass? You are a fucking a decade outdated. Cadia pylons just needed to be destroyed. That's it. The planet is worthless beyond that. Abaddon's base of operation aka the Eye of Terror expanded to split the galaxy in half.

>>lost access to half the galaxy, even if he does get out of the cadian gate, which is not certain by any means

It's not the smallest anything. It was the LARGEST hive fleet yet in the galxy. Larger than Hydra that's now the face of the Tyranid faction. We all know all fleets in the galaxy are the vanguard. So you are not special for telling us.

As the fighting happened in Baal, the Great Rift exploded above the Baal System. When the darkness receded, the hive fleet besieging Baal was gone and was replaced by Girlyman's fleet. It's implication that the great rift took the Tyranids and trew up Girlyman.

If you want what really happened, then wait for Guy Haley's "Devastation of Baal" that should coming out in November or December.
