What are some pet-worthy creatures?

>> No.51861007

Normal doggos have a pretty consistent proportion of squishy and hard, but this doggo looks like it has all its squishy in one place, and all its hard in another.

Giant spiders.

-They can clog up pressure plates with webbing so you and your party don't get torn apart by traps.

-Can climb on walls and ceilings, allowing them to scout ahead since they're pretty good at staying hidden.

-Can paralyze most enemies with venom which can help if you want some them alive.

-Are good at ambushing enemies while they're focused on you and/or the party.

-Are adorable and like to jump on people to show affection.

Spiders can be real bros given the chance.

Remember, while we currently dote on our pets, most domestic pets began as a symbiotic relationship of mutual exploitation.

So, look for roles or duties humans will want to hand off to something else, and find an animal (usually ones with social tendencies) which can be domesticated to fit that role.

"I'm lazy and I want to get small stuff from across the room" -- Capuchin Monkey.

"There are disease-riddled rodents eating our stored foods" -- Cats

"It's too easy for predators to sneak up on us at night, and we could really use something that runs faster than us to help move livestock where we want them." -- Wolves/Dogs

It's a trend.

I think fish were more of a status symbol. "Look at me, I'm so wealthy I can afford to own useless things", or (depending on the species of fish), "Look at me, I can afford to maintain a private Caviar factory in my home." (despite caviar tasting like a mixture of snot and bathtub mold).

>> No.51871427

Mostly because owls are birds of prey that can and will kill and eat crows if given a chanse. However, they're nocturnal so they aren't likely to attack crows during the day. So if crows encounter one during the day they'll harass it, knowing that it'll probably just leave to find another place to sleep in, rather than try to kill them.
With diurnal birds of prey, they'll just make loud noises to warn other crows and keep a safe distance, since going close to one is likely to end badly.
