You can argue literary value because art is subjective, but you can't argue that Shakespeare had a huge impact on the English language's development, standardization, and legitimacy abroad as a language of culture and artistic expression, a bit like what Dante did for Italian.

That's it. I'm sick of all this Short sword bullshit that's going on in Dwarf Fortress right now. Katanas deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Bronzebasements for 2,400,000 (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid adamantine with my katana.

Human smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.

Katanas are thrice as sharp as Dwarven swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a short sword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily bisect an Axelord wearing full steel plate with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why The Tongs of Foraging never bothered conquering Humans? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Humans and their katanas of destruction. Even in the battle for Tombfrothing, Dwarven soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the game. Here are the raws I propose for Katanas:
[ITEM_WEAPON:ITEM_WEAPON_KATANA]

Japan characters: The Loli, the Tsundere, The girl-next-door, the slutty one, the serious one, the ditz etc.

They cookie-cutter the fuck out of their tropes and archetypes ALL the time, especially in harem anime with the stupid 'male lead paired up with violent, jealous bitch' stereotype, and they have the GALL to accuse a series that doesn't do that as having "Flat, One-Dimensional Characters"? My opinion on RWBY is irrelevant, as THAT is so bullshit, I'm using it to fertilize my garden.

So yeah, dust/log, glass houses and stones, the kettle shouting at the pot "What the FUCK did you call me!?", that's why it leaves me awestruck for sheer stupidity.

But anon, RWBY's characters are exactly as cookie-cutter stereotypical as you would expect from a series that calls itself "anime-inspired" like it's a good thing.

It's called "GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought Here" or something like that.

>how does it spoil its premise?
It's basically "modern army vs fantasy army", with plenty of modern military hardware on display and in action. Sounds good, right?
Except that premise is squandered very quickly on generic anime tropes, including harem crap.
Also really cringeworthy geopolitics, as Japan claims the lands beyond the other side of the Gate as its own, denies entry to all other nations, including their own allies. Then there's the reasons the other countries want to look into the Gate: China wants to send half their population through, I don't remember the US reasons and Russia is in just for the evilz. None of those nations dare force their way in because the JSDF.

>from the Medal of Honor citation:
Captain Ben L. Salomon was serving at Saipan, in the Marianas Islands on July 7, 1944, as the Surgeon for the 2nd Battalion, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. The Regiment’s 1st and 2d Battalions were attacked by an overwhelming force estimated between 3,000 and 5,000 Japanese soldiers. It was one of the largest attacks attempted in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Although both units fought furiously, the enemy soon penetrated the Battalions’ combined perimeter and inflicted overwhelming casualties. In the first minutes of the attack, approximately 30 wounded soldiers walked, crawled, or were carried into Captain Salomon’s aid station, and the small tent soon filled with wounded men. As the perimeter began to be overrun, it became increasingly difficult for Captain Salomon to work on the wounded. He then saw a Japanese soldier bayoneting one of the wounded soldiers lying near the tent. Firing from a squatting position, Captain Salomon quickly killed the enemy soldier. Then, as he turned his attention back to the wounded, two more Japanese soldiers appeared in the front entrance of the tent. As these enemy soldiers were killed, four more crawled under the tent walls. Rushing them, Captain Salomon kicked the knife out of the hand of one, shot another, and bayoneted a third. Captain Salomon butted the fourth enemy soldier in the stomach and a wounded comrade then shot and killed the enemy soldier. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Captain Salomon ordered the wounded to make their way as best they could back to the regimental aid station, while he attempted to hold off the enemy until they were clear. Captain Salomon then grabbed a rifle from one of the wounded and rushed out of the tent. After four men were killed while manning a machine gun, Captain Salomon took control of it. When his body was later found, 98 dead enemy soldiers were piled in front of his position.
