Well, that certainly fell into place, didn't it? When I get tired of hunting demons, poltergeists, and psychic alien invaders from dark dimensions beyond space and time, I'll give it a couple years to see if it gets better. After that, I'll just summon my blade and use it to cut my own soul free. Ain't no Puchuun gonna hold me.

My magic is pretty weak. I'll have to conserve it for momentary uses, and always try to keep just enough around for a Moon Wrath in case things go far south. If I blow a Moon Wrath and I'm still screwed, I probably deserve to suffer the reincarnation time. Intangibility and invisibility will be more important for momentary confusion and concealment than the use of my powerful debuffs. If I can spare the mana, opening with a death curse on opponents I'm not sure I can take is probably better than appearing just to knife them.

As for what kind of girl she is, she treats incognito as a curse and does her best to show off every time she does anything in hopes of sticking in people's memories for longer. Outside of that though she's very dedicated to the magical girl thing even if she has set puchuu on her incredibly short shoot on sight list for forcing the whole thing on her.

I'll think more on it once I come up with a name, which may never happen, names are hard and it's easier to get lost on pixiv for another two hours.

I was kicking around the idea of a "wizards tower" of high Mag girls dedicated to understand or reverse or manipulate the magic transformation and the magic behind it. Share secrets, explore other realms, manipulate girls into "adventuring parties" etc.

Deleted a bunch of stuff, rewrote half the magical powers section, added instructions on how you're actually supposed to fucking play ... bunch of stuff.

It should now be balanced across almost all builds, and is no longer so reliant on high stats. Stats still matter, of course, but they're not quite as completely fucking unbeatable as they were.

No, they still come out stronger.

Strength-based twin builds don't do quite as well as the others, due to the armor mechanics. But twins of all other types perform ... really fucking well.

Their durability isn't much lower than a normal magical girl, so what happens is one twin fights off the opponent for several rounds while the other twin ... does stuff.

Magical build twins are particularly unbeatable, with agi-twins packing conventional guns coming in a close second..

This is a major design problem and a huuuuge avenue for abuse.

The whole point of having a formal system is that no one is interpreting, applying bias, arbitrating to their advantage, and so forth. The mechanics should be interpreting. Everyone should know what is going to work and what isn't, at all times, or the mechanics are pointless and you open yourself up to wank and abuse. The interpreter should be the third party, e.g. the system rules!

No. I don't have enough post to describe why this is such an issue, but it's a huge one. In a fair competitive environment, there needs to be equal risk for both parties. The defender losing a turn or taking double damage is an objective, clear risk. The defender inflicting any possible consequence on the assaulter is a staggering mismatch of risk.

All this does is create one of the stats as an objective problem for the player. It also subjectively encourages glass cannons, rocket tag, and empty slugfests. In this system, also, debuffs are wholly useless. Decreasing an opponent's actionability or armor is going to have a negligible effect on their function. Remember that the biggest debuff is Dead. If they can more easily achieve a Dead state than a crippled state, a reasonable player will go for the damage.

This creates combat that is simple, flat, boring, and with little narrative consequence. That is bad for games, especially story games.

You have an effective cap for Luck. 10+ luck is almost entirely useless, due to the trickle effect of Fate points and their relative uselessness. The other stats have no soft caps of this nature. Their derived stats (shame on you, you can google up a lot of material on why derived stats are a problem, especially in a system that minimizes rolling) scale forever. Luck does not.

This is a problem, since it is possible for people to narrow their creativity in order to meet public acceptance. It also makes it possible for a player to bill themselves out of any play at all. The point of a shared system like this is that there's an external standard. Recreating the magic system so that effects are just bought, with some specialities having a discount, allows players to fine-tune their abilities, refer to an external standard, and curb abuse and clique issues. Think about Supers games with this system.

Well, the first few rolls were promising, I like the "little creepy girl with mind powers" thing, but the perks, weapon, and outfit lean me much more towards fists. I had to get rid of Twin Soul, I don't like the reduced stats. I'll just walk around in my outfit, since a uniform isn't that unusual and I have Incognito. My plan in combat is to team up (and by that I mean follow a team and help from a distance), messing with the enemy's mind (with some help from my psychoanalytical skills) to let my teammates kill it. If I'm alone, I'll try to render my foe unconscious and wreck it with my fists once its safe to approach. If the foe is mindless, I NOPE the fuck out of there.
For the most part though, I avoid combat and just practice/have fun with my new mental powers.

I meant doubling damage by letting you attack twice. I shoulda clarified.

By interpretation he means description of the attack. It's like how in DnD the rules don't care if you swing up or down or if you go for the legs with a thrusting blow. It's all in the fluff surrounding it. The rules dictate the flow of the fight and the winner, everything in between in at he players.
Dumping everything into one stat is a sure way to lose, doesn't matter if it's vitality or magic. The Rock Paper Scissors mechanics make sure of that.

Overall the intent was to create a combat system just for the intent of having a way to resolve combat without a GM. I see what you mean when you say it's limited but it wasn't made to engage issues out side of combat, just like how the CYOA doesn't resolve issues outside of combat. I know we have people on rizon looking to make a comprehensive system like you described. I like this one because outside of defining a couple of combat rolls it's open. You can play anything you want to. I understand what you mean by it limiting players to what they themselves can do, but I feel like a system that limits the ideas of knowledge or diplomacy to a roll is just as limiting.

What rock paper scissor mechanics? Everyone can read the blurb at the end, but most people can also see that it's bullshit. It's a good goal, but it's not one that was executed. High mag trumps everything in the system. Period. If you have a ranged weapon, you are objectively worse than if you had a magic weapon. If you have a melee or fist weapon, you're even more screwed. And if you have a vitality above 4, your damage is boned and you've gotten no increased defense out of it: you'll miss anyway, you'll be hit because armor does little to nothing over agility, and anyone can just shoot off a spell and completely invalidate even a vitality score of 600.
