PREMISE and RECAP: You are Kyousuke Kamijou. Upon first hearing, this name would make you sound like an ordinary person. Such an assumption however is patently false; you have the ability to modify your inner tempo and are an Executor Initiate of a division of the Roman Catholic Church, part of the Eight Sacrament. How did it get to there? Simple; around a week or so ago, Kaname Madoka, a classmate you never were close to, wished for a boyfriend with a creature (that sounds suspiciously like the Devil) called Kyubey. Said wish was granted in the most twisted way possible; it brainwashed your mind such that at nighttime, you would become a Tuxedo Mask-esque persona called the String Screamer. You are usually unconscious when you become this persona, however, some of it managed to leak into your dreams. In your search for answers, you tried stalking Akemi Homura and using one of your newfound powers, landed yourself into hospital. There, you had a divine epiphany, where you wanted to become a priest. Conveniently enough, there was a certain chaplain at the hospital; Kotomine Kirei. You asked him about becoming a priest and he told you how hard it was; however he offered for you to become an Executor instead, someone who deals with supernatural heresies and abominations such as lichs. Thus, you were prescribed to kill Saotome Kazuko, whom you did, but not before screwing her and having a date with her. Akemi Homura has promised to become your mentor with firearms, somewhat impressed by your ability to fight the supernatural.

That's less than half of the problems; you now need to sneak into the Yakuza's armory and steal guns for Homura. Right now you're collecting your reward from Father Kotomine.

All-in-all, it's a gigantic clusterfuck. Welcome to Mitakihara Middle School Days.

You move onwards to the hotel where Father Kotomine is staying. You think you hear the word "criminal" come from Sayaka, but maybe it's just your imagination.

You proceed to Kotomine's room.

~~

You knock on

Father Kotomine's door. He answers it, holding a glass of wine.

"Good afternoon, Initiate Kamijou." His booming voice, is as usual, filled with a delight that should not exist in a miserable world.

You respond.

"Good afternoon. Father. I'm here to collect the Anglican Keys."

"They're in the cupboard there."

"And regarding my reward, Father Kotomine..."

"Ah, yes, you get two option; firstly, you get a monetary reward of 1 million dollars. Or, you can get my cross. Which one do you want?"

[The cross]

[The million dollars.]

You say to Father Kotomine:

"I want the cross." You have a very strong feeling that that cross is some special item with powerful properties which will allow you to serve the glory of the Holy Spirit more. Indeed, looking back at the Black and Anglican Keys and the Uruk-4000, it seems like that the man has the habit of giving out strange and empowering items.

"Very well, Initiate Kamijou. Firstly however, I have to commend you for accepting the cross as a reward without knowing what it does. Tell me, Executor Initiate, do you want to here a short history of 'magic'?"

[No Father, just teach me how to use the cross.]

"Yes, Father." You opt to learn more about the history of 'magic'. Using a weapon is one thing, but using a weapon while knowing the history of that weapon imparts a special feel and confidence in using it. Compare a first-world soldier with a third-world terrorist; the soldier uses that weapon, occasionally knowing who was the inventor of that weapon and the purpose of it. That is in contrast to the terrorists, who simply uses it and then fails as he merely spams out dakka rather than using it for suppressive fire. That is the AK.

You give your attention to Father Kotomine.

"Quite simply, 'magic' as the Esoterics of Medieval and Early Modern Europe knew it, does not exist anymore.

You blink at this statement. You just saw magic in the form of your hand being healed, what does he mean there was no magic anymore.

He's technically right. The alchemy and sorcery known to the common people is all wrong. Intentionally so, so as to hinder one's efforts to investigate the real mysteries. Or perhaps there are a few truths amongst the lies, serving as a way for more "enlightened" minds to join the fold of mage society. Either way, you ain't going to learn real magic just by reading a few books on Wicca or something.

You opt to continue listening to Father Kotomine. Strange statement or not, interrupting elders, especially a member of the Catholic Church is something rude that should be frowned upon.

"Quite simply, 'magic' as the Esoterics of Medieval and Early Modern Europe knew it, does not exist anymore. This is due to the nature of 'magic'. 'Magic' operates on two fuels; Od and Mana. Od is the internal element that all beings possess; It is in every living thing. Mana in contrast, is the magical energy of the world. Now, relating on Mana; the Holy Church has always hated vampires, or Dead Apostles, to be more sophisticated; we have always hunted them. However, in the last 40 years or so, the Church has gone on a full-genocide campaign on them. This is primarily a retributive enterprise; around ten years ago, the creator of these Vampires, Dead Apostle Ancestors, dried up all the Mana, the outer source of 'magic' in this world in Aylesbury, Britain. As such, the fantastic magic of fireballs and tempests does not exist anymore, given that mages use Od to activate their 'magical engines' and then use 'Mana' to power the spell they cast. However, this cross allows you to use such 'magic' - it is an heirloom from my great-grandfather and it is imbued by faith such that you can generate otherwise nonexistent Mana for spells. That is the principle behind this cross.'

Enthusiastically, you ask, "How do I use it?"

"Simply; you must pray for around three hours to fill the cross with Mana."

["That doesn't allow for much operational flexibility, Father."]

Three hours of prayer a day is not that much effort given the potential benefits of possessing a source of magic. You decide to dismiss your concerns and impatience and gracefully accept Father Kotomine's gift.

""Very well Father. I receive your gift with grace."

You receive his family heirloom with both hands, demonstrating an uncertain attitude to such an item.

"But, Father, may you please teach me a simple magic?"

"That will take around three hours. But my impression is, you have quite a lot of free time."

"Excuse me, Akemi-san. I'm wandering if it's possible to get those weapons another time. I currently am learning magic." You state this to her through the phone...

...An odd silence ensues and you can hear Akemi-sensei on the other side of the line sighing deeply.

"Tell me, Kamijou-san. Have you met a white creature that looks like a cross between a cat and a rabbit?"

What an odd question.

"No."

"And you're not learning card tricks either are you?"

"No, they're for real."

There is silence on the other side of the line as if Akemi-sensei is considering something. Apparently, Akemi-sensei doesn't like magic despite using it, nor does she like...

...a white cat rabbit? Kyubey?

You make a mental note to ask about Kyubey later.

Akemi-sensei continues.

"Yeah, go on. I'll get those weapons then. However, I expect you to show me your 'magic' the next time you see me. Tomorrow."

"Yes, Akemi-sensei."

You go back in Father Kotomine's room.

He says to you:

"Let's get on with it, shall we?"

~~~
Reinforcement. The most basic magic. Considered by some to also be the most useless magic. Hell, it doesn't even need to use Mana, only od.
Being a relatively mundane person, Kotomine explained to you that you had around only 1 to 2 at most magic circuits at the very least. Nonetheless, you managed to make the most of this lesson, learning a significant amount in a very short time.
Once again, you concentrate your soul and reinforce yourself. The needle you drag along the top of your hand makes only a dry scrape, not cutting blood.
~~~

It's around 7pm. Your lessons have ended with Father Kotomine.

There really is no option for you to risk letting the mundanes into this business. If word gets out that an incompetent Executor somehow start a hunt by the mundanes for suspects and leads and especially if those leads were found in the Roman Catholic Church, the Executors may as well try and personally end you. You don't like the thought of having your throat slit by Black Keys, thanks you very much.

~~~
You sneak on an officer. He's busy enjoying his coffee while on break while the rest of the officers are working their asses of at the scene.
...You proceed to stab his stadow with an Anglican Key. You sneak up to him, making sure that he has no chance of seeing you and strip him from behind. You cut off a piece of your shirt under the Yakuza disguise costume and then proceed to blindfold and gag the police officer. You then run off to a bush and then change your clothes.
~~~

You crawl under the police tape. The police are chattering about leads and matches and fires, with firefighters accompanying them. You try and act naturally.

You walk across an officer. His face is droopy and exhausted, as if he's been awake for 24 hours. He stares at you. Fright grows inside of you, as if you are realising your cover has been compromised. He merely grunt.

"Shibumi, could you please get me some coffee? I'm tired as fuck."

You sigh inside.

~~~
You return with a coffee and give it to the droopy officer. Either he doesn't care you're not Shibumi or he's just to tired to see you're not him.
You stray off the main body of the investigation.
You scurry through the ground where your bedroom was and then see that the luggage is charred... but still remarkably intact.
...And it seemed that your violin case is fireproofed.
...an hour trying to teach her about that theory seems to result in very little.
"I can't use this 'od' you talk of. It uses my Soul Gem."
Akemi-san stands up and pacesm brooding at her inability to use 'od'; it turns out she can still reinforce, but it comes from a different source; the object with she calls the Soul Gem.
[Assure her you can find her a way to access her Od together.]
You don't know what would dispirit Akemi Homura about the principles of 'magic'. To you, Akemi Homura looked like a hardened veteran. If Akemi Homura was driven to gloominess and sad and depressing contemplation by failing at magical theory, you have a feeling that somehow, sometime in some place, Akemi Homura experienced something that made her feel extremely negative about her very existence. You can't exactly imagine what hatred of yourself would feel like, but you'd guess it would be pretty scary. And that sadness seems to be connected to the word 'Soul Gem'; the source of a Magical Girl's power. But why would being reminded of power make a person sad?
Akemi Homura continues to pace around the room, half-lifedly.
"Excuse me, Akemi-sensei, but what is the nature of a Soul Gem?"
Her gloomy eyes turn to you. Then she stops pacing and goes to her room.
Indeed, she is having a horrible time.
What is your next course of action.
[Go to sleep. Today has been too depressing.]
You opt to go and charge Kotomine's cross.
~~~

"...amen."

After the three hours, you are thoroughly exhausted and go to sleep on Akemi-sensei's couch.

~~~
You wake, your body somewhat stiff from sleeping on a couch.
Akemi-sensei is sitting on the opposite couch, watching the news on her strange computer screen, eating instant noodles for breakfast.
"...Police have found several bodies of members associated with the Yakuza, with the cause of death assessed to be stabbing. Anybody with information is encouraged to contact the police..."
You ignore the de-appetising news about dead Yakuza bodies. Akemi-sensei's house is does not have a sign that says "Dead Yakuza Storage", thus there is no reason for you to think about dead yakuza. Although, it's somewhat funny given that the Yakuza act like scumbags in Mitakihara; they just got their fair share.
The main focus you currently is the fact that Akemi-sensei is eating instant noodles for breakfast. Absolutely unhealthy.
"That's not very healthy for breakfast is it?" You ask her rhetorically.
She glances at you, ignores you and continues eating, even accelerating the rate at which she slurps these noodles.
Ask and ye shall receive, once you prove yourself worthy and are of pure intent.
Satan gives you what you wish for if you kneel before him, but the deal always sours. Look at the wishes granted by coobie. They all backfire cruelly. There is a reason the church hunts those who contract with the demon. They threaten not only his holy name, but humanity itself as the deals turn in upon themselves and destroy lives and souls. You reject the sudden onset of lust that just jolted into your head. Maybe it is the morning. Maybe it is Kaname-san's nasty vile, brainwashing wish sublimating itself onto other females. However, there is no place for lust in the current urgent situation, especially for a teacher. If you tried to make a move on her, she'd blow you away... In the sense that your face might just look a bit more like chilli con carne. Even worse, your lust...
...Your lust is the reason why Sayaka was hurt. It was you wanting to taste her flesh wrongfully and outside the authorisation of wedlock that you sent her on an emotional trainwreck...
The image of a nude Sayaka sleeping alongside you after a night of making love and children together taunts you. To be able to feel and grab her beauty; that future will never be because of your filthy greed, dirty and corrupt...
...And even if part of it is due to the lust Kaname-san's wish imbibed in your head, you feel in your heart that you yourself possess at least some responsibility. After all, it was you who pursued the course of action of trying to seduce Sayaka.
You feel your own sadness and tears building up in your eyes. You regret having taken that course of action.
You think about what to do today... And the thoughts that strike you are not pleasant at all...
Firstly, there is the issue of Kaname-san's wish. Her wish manifests such; the closer you are to her, the more powerful her mind-controlling wish for you to act as her girlfriend is. Furthermore, the closer you are to her, the more effort it takes to try and resist that mind control and suggestion...
Secondly, both you and Miki-san's reputations have been thoroughly ruined. The rumours (or rather, recounts, because they are true) of you and Sayaka being at a love hotel have probably spread like cancer with your absence. They've called your precious Sayaka a floozy and you a player and talked of a 'street rat'; presumably they're talking about Sakura-san. Your reputation and Miki-san's reputation are ruined and if the both of you go to school, Miki-san will probably press questions onto you.
Thirdly, the issue of Nakazawa and Saotome-sensei. They two were clearly in a relationship of sorts and you don't want to have to deal with...
Your guilt intensifies. How has Nakazawa been coping? It's bothering you so much.
