Either dodge everything by adding 2 to difficulty of incoming shots, overpower everything by boosting brawn, throw people and things around like rag dolls doing size x10 damage.

With control on move you can technically, or at least with the gm permission, force choke someone by moving their throat and squeezing it.

You just sacrifice the experience that would go to skills and talents for force powers, but with about 150 experience you can do a lot.

>Tyranus replied

But Sidious (or Sifo-dyas, if you assume/accept he actually existed and wasn't just a shell game like in the script) commissioned the army. I guess if we assume Sifo is just Sidious, it's easy to explain Tyranus making the following decisions, but it's a little stranger if he's supposed to be a real Jedi.

Okay. Just to be clear here. Against the sound effect of a bassy old recordplayer and some dude pretending he can't breath
>crushing somebody's head or ribcage to a bloody pulp
>breaking necks
>ripping off somebody's jaw
>using random objects to stab people
>possibly even using their own hands to kill them
I think there are a lot more imaginative ways to kill somebody with the force that would look a lot more interesting in a film too.

>whereas Force Kung Fu is KICKING RAD
Can't argue whit that. Would have loved to see some physical adepts in SW really.

>>33529606
It's not depicted as 'draining of life force' though. It's some dude gasping for air, pulling his collar wide before being lifted into the air by his throat, which clearly suggests telekinetic, old fashioned chocking. I'm not even sure, I was introduced to star wars all at once by my dad at around age 6 or 7 when the special editions came out in theaters, and at the same time I learned of the movies I kind of realized there were all these books and games that my dad had, and I just slid into it without any huge epiphany, other than "this is awesome". I just took all star wars media in as being part of one large whole and didn't make differentiations. I didn't even really think about it all as being done by different people with different interpretations.

So, for the Droid Compainion motivation in EotE, would it screw anything over if one of them starts of with an astromech/protocol droid off the bat? Would having him have to fix up the droid first be better? I guess this question can go for related motivations that could give companions too.

>> No.33551196

>>33551144

I'd stress it strongly that to them, the droid is a person, not a tool. Like how Luke and Anakin treated R2 - they're not something to be pawned off when the crew is short on funds.

Giving them a protocol droid or astromech is an option, but it's one the PC should still have to pay for - in maintenance and parts. And if something bad happens to the droid, it'll be devastating to the PC.

You should curb it so that it doesn't get excessive, but I'd allow it. Also consider letting the Motivation represent wanting a droid, but not having one. That way, acquiring one becomes a plot point.

Well, I mean pretty much every other disney movie, we've had SOME idea of what's going on. With Brave (back when it was The Bear and the Bow) we had a short plot outline, with the Avengers we had a good idea of what was happening. Lion King, Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Mulan, fucking Bambi 2. But THIS movie is complete media silence.
Yeah, I GET that it's going to be the first REAL Star Wars movie in a while and they don't want to ruin the surprises for anyone, I GET that this kind of media blackout existed for other films in the series, I GET that what disney absolutely wants is a media explosion on opening night.
BUT! And it's a big butt, a moon, if you will.
We have no guarantee that what we will be shown is worth the wait. JJ doesn't have the best track record when it comes to flash vs substance and prop reveals are no indication of film quality. We've been burned too much to just accept it as top quality sight unseen.
What I want is the promise, the most solemn vow, that they are going to make the best damn movie they are capable of making. No jangling keys, no shell games, come out and say 'this movie is going to blow your goddamn MIND'.

Sure. I wish I could find this artist again, or another willing to finish the piece (or do one in their own style)

Well, it's probably not going to do that. It's going to be a safe and steady payoff on a safe and steady investment.
Target audience: Family and kids.

"A year after the Battle of Yavin , a crack stormtrooper unit was sent to prison by an imperial court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security station to the Outer Rim. Today, still wanted by the Empire they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team."

You can market to John Q Public without being safe and by the numbers. They won't DO it, but it's very doable.

Ofcourse you can, I was merely stating what they will do. I think the people doing the side movies are probably going to have more creative freedom. And now i read this:

> Kathleen Kennedy explained that the stand-alone films will not crossover with the films of the sequel trilogy, stating, "George was so clear as to how that works. The canon that he created was the Star Wars saga. Right now, Episode VII falls within that canon. The spin-off movies, or we may come up with some other way to call those films, they exist within that vast universe that he created. There is no attempt being made to carry characters (from the stand-alone films) in and out of the saga episodes. Consequently, from the creative standpoint, it's a roadmap that George made pretty clear.

The spinoff movies are the new EU. That's amazing.

Maybe a series would be cool. I don't even like TV shows, ever since LOST was hyped to hell and back for years and sucked when I watched it, I've never trusted live action TV again. But I'd still watch a LOST quality show retelling the jedi knight series.

The tone would shift wildly without a lot of rewriting. Dark Forces is an action movie set in Star Wars, Jedi Knight is the most Star Warsy one to me, so there'd be little change, Outcast is like the gritty sequel, and Academy is pretty Warsy while being steeped in the EU-stlye of the universe.
Mysteries of the Sith would be interesting to see as a midquel miniseries about Mara's investigation of Kyle's disappearance, but it's also very different in tone.
I'd say four movies and a miniseries.

I'd ask who Kyle is railing, but I know the answer would be 'everyone'.
I'm not Steve Rogers, I don't get that reference.

The novels or novelettes or however you want to call them kept a pretty consistent tone through telling the first two games, I thought. Actually, if I remember, they were kind of a prequel to dark forces, then skipped most of it, then told jedi knight. So maybe not.
