Last time we farmed...farmed some more and really not much else. Oh wait we also worked on mutations on our own and on some critters of which exploded in our faces when we tried it out on plants. Beyond our own work it was awfully quiet probably has to do with the whole swamping a section of the forest. Must of driven off old critters but eventually something is gonna replace it as for what who know

Also, food is the basis of civilization if we don't have it in steady supply we're constantly on the edge of toppling (like with the Outcasts). That aside it affects a shitload of other stats like Morale and Health.

The worst part about the flesheating plants is that the have 0 nutritional value so they won't even be hunted by anything. Perhaps we should get Mama to design a plague or a parasite to wipe them out.

A simple parasite that does something like coat the plant in an oily substance or grows into a sack of naptha should be pretty simple and pretty deadly if we can get some fire psy powers.

In fact, if we can design that parasite and spread it through their population then those plants will turn from a menace into an effective defense. Our forces won't be threatened by them, but monsters won't stray near our base or any areas that those plants occupy because fighting them isn't worth it because they've got no nutrition. Technologically skilled foes would be able to deal with them easily enough, but they'd have to find out about their weakness first.

Forces went out scavenging...found out we were no longer alone out there the bandits are back but sticking to the swampy area for some reason. Scavengers also report some never before seen stuff as well. Strange plants and critters are starting to show up. They managed to overhear some bandits muttering about how much easier the swamp terrain is compared to the forest is for em and stuff about evil plants.

Well once we get the farms really established hopefully we won't have to worry about them for a long time.

Last time we used the monster-minders they sorta turned on us. They've got some potential, but we'd need to invest a lot of effort into them for them to be useful.

Oh, on that note we need to have Mama develop a loyalty gene-sequence (like what dogs have for humans) that we insert into all our creations. If we don't do that then we need to train our psy-domination and possibly combine that with some mutation that provides us a backdoor into their brains.

There's also falling back onto simple pheromone tricks, like the Antlion sequence from Half Life 2. We have this little ball that makes them think we're their alpha/queen/whatever.

As for bandits leaving anything behind now that they didn't. They made sure to take their dead if they were reasonably intact same with their equipment. there are a few broken bits and pieces laying around but thats about it.

Unison mutations require their own separate research and explanation. Streamlining is what was performed.

Guidelines are unavailable what she does just comes naturally to her she doesn't know how to explain it.

As I said before stability is nearly impossible to measure with mutants thanks to their unstable natures. On that scale mutants are around a 8-9 or 10 to 7 at best with an abomination forming should their mutations run rampant.

The mutations we picked all coordinate, they are all soft internal organs, and should have good synergy. Our brains and our digestion have already been confirmed for being synergistic, I assumed our "psy energy" came from the brain but i don't know for sure.

I think the next mutation, if we mutate further, should be at the other end of the digestion spectrum if you catch my drift....I want to poop resources.

Actually, considering how the bandits were at least concerned about the flesh-eating plants I think it's time we did that Tree-Bark skin mutation.

It'd certainly give us a stealthed edge in our forrest, and using our terrain to our advantage is the surest way to grow in strength.

A new mutation is being pursued by us how we did so was by eating a LOT of bark...which didn't really due much besides provide a lot of fibre that is until some of our number ventured a little too far and got themselves swallowed up by some plants only for them to spew them back out once they realized it wasn't what they were going for.

Discovered mutation Tough Skin

Those mutants came back with some noticably tougher skin as in typical scratches wont be problem for us anymore. With some work we could probably figure out a way to improve it.

Our forces throw themselves at the garden often enough literally. Whenever our one of ours wanted to quite the abomination merely gave them a look and they went right back at newly renewed.

So the gardens exploded in activity a...pouch sack was found utterly full of seeds that just so happened to be exactly what we needed and more.

Our forces went over what remains of the security department little more then a ruined husk at this point even by ruins standards. Like damned dat shit is wrecked clearly one of the hardest if not the hardest hit area of this research complex.

Strangely though the security hub itself is a bit more intact then all the rest of it.

We went off to the comms area and did some digging around it all seemed utterly broken and hopeless until someone discovered a back up suite. Which was also heavily damaged...but here is the kicker by cannibalizing what was left of the original for bits, pieces, and parts we were able the backup to somewhat get it back working. It ain't by any means pretty and holy fuck balls is it crude but it works. Kinda which is much better then not working at all.

Data true to what we knew is quite damaged and thus much data is corrupted.

What we did find confirms this facility was meant for psionic research but had poor luck until everything went to hell. Something happened though an unexpected massive breakthrough worthy of a black site even. Beyond that everything is corrupted but there are mentionings of some stocks of psi influencing materials stored somewhere as well as some experimental interfaces and tech. Whether such things are intact is unknown or even their location for that matter.

Mutants activated brain power before going off to the lake. Its gotten quite the size now and has settled down no more super murky due to debris and silt. Appears to have become a popular watering hole though nearby trees near the edge of died off already as well. New growths are detected here even more strange then the marsh ones.

Brain POWAH seems to figure that this was an especially low area that got flooded and the bottom of which would be lurking quite a lot of treasure thanks to all what would of been dragged down there...problem is getting to it. Brains also suggests others likely will also eventually figure this out as well.

Another benefit of hivemind is information.

If you have at least one person who is a highly trained doctor or a nuclear physicist, then everyone is a highly trained doctor and a nuclear physicist capable of thinking with the exact same knowledge, not just simply listening to instruction but contributing with their own calculations and suggestions in an equal capacity.

One scientist, means you have a community of scientists. Each as smart as the smartest.

Then there's multitasking and security benefits. A scientists can have lackeys perform dangerous experiments as though each were that same scientist, without any need to be even near the testing site(s).

Hiveminds also do not run out of batteries and are resistant to EMP's. And not everything can be detected by camera or transfered on screen, such as the Psychic-Scrying abilities or benig able to see the aura of others behind cover and be able to transmit that sight to anyone else.

We sent our forces to drain the lake. The brilliant idea being put it underground or dig a ditch and drain it another way. We tried both and both failed miserably.

1 Drill a hole under and drain it underground.

What resulted in a simple geyser...that got bigger and bigger. Apparently we hit some sort of underground aquifer...if aquifers could get that big anyway. Creepy part is we actually saw monsters in the water get jettisoned within the flow or simply got spat out. Instead the lake got bigger and bigger...that is when problem plan fail number two kicked in.

Plan 2 divert lake water away.

For you see turned out our guys found some old roads and passageways they used in addition to classic ditch digging and diversions. So why YES we DID divert it...all in the wrong direction.

So..while the lake is 'kinda' drained if you consider replaying drained with giant ass fountain of water instead of still lake water SURE we did so brilliantly.

As for the rest of the water?

No idea where half of it went while the other half started to pour out everywhere. Giant flood but instead of just going away like most of it did it instead chose to stick around more often then not.

Water pouring and or flooding everywhere.

The trees seem to be wilting and odd growths are now appearing everywhere.

On the plus side streams streams of water everywhere also rain. Previously this forest appeared to VERY dry turns out that was utterly wrong all the plants merely got their water from underground and nows we tapped the underground aquifer big time.

Hopefully it stops...eventually. Though we may have to deal with desert then really depends on whether you want dry ass desert or sopping wet jungle marsh.

Its raining treasure ahem correction debris.

Flood swamped damn near the entire fucking forest. Lakes are appearing everywhere and streams are showing up like crazy. At this rate we might get ourselves some fullblown rivers.

Trees are wiltering.

New monsters have appeared.

Floods hit everywhere dragging debris, corpses, treasures, and who knows what else.

New growths have appeared.

There is now almost a continual downpour or if your lucky a sprinkle. It gets worst as you get closer to the Geyser Basin as its a lake no more. Plus side is the treasure is easy to get to as it got blasted up and away scattering it, but hey at least its in reach...or falling on our heads. Literally.

Airtight....doesn't really exist in this facility anymore maybe underground or in some closed of areas that we don't have but its generally known this place is somewhat ruined. So we tried to move all the sensitive equipment into them...through the rain and falling debris with little useable to protect them. Suffice to say it didn't turn out all that great.

Suffice to say its not pretty.

Everything except for the reactor area and the underground sections are wrecked. Strangely enough the gardens weathered the damage surprisingly well. Everything else not so much.

Forces sent out to scavenge for resources while they were out there they noted all the debris laying everywhere lot of foliage damaged...then there is the carnage, corpses, and smell. So many damned corpses and all have begun to rot. Worst yet many of those corpses were zombie. The waters many seem to be heavily polluted and when you throw in zombies with such density on top of that the water is now pretty damn putrid even by wasteland standards.

Yeah...turns out the duel went a little extreme as basically water started big ass geysers of water starting appearing everywhere, it bubbled up from below, came flooding, and hell clouds themselves fucking STREAKED across the sky to deliver their big ass payloads. When they ran out they simply began to sank delivering banks of mist along with clouds of fog.

In other words this place is well on its way to becoming underwater. Good thing we got those gills yeah?
