He was a genetical outlier, endowed with monstrous long term memory (even if slightly exaggerated in tales) as well as capacitous working memory (i suscpect he really had many more "slots" than averge intelligent man).
He was well fed, taken care of etc. On top of that he received top notch education from young age by proffesors who recognized his talents early.
Probably worked like a dog too.
No one should feel bad about not being like Johnny, hes success was in large part lucky coincidence of unique factors.
