This is completely unfounded in science. The idea of migrants bringing diseases is riddled with misinformation and bigotry. It's simply a way for xenophobes to try to convince people that they shouldn't take in people from war-torn countries.

The only cases in history where things like this happens was when European explorers brought diseases to the new world, which decimated the indigenous population. This is because there was hitherto no contact between the two continents so they didn't have immunities to diseases that were common at the time in the other place. It's pretty ridiculous to suggest that people in Europe and people from Africa and the middle east would have such different diseases and therefore immunities. People have always traveled back and forth from all of these regions since time immemorial.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, since there are still ways that it could happen, but as far as it being a realistic health concern, you're probably pretty stupid if you actually believe these scare tactics. .

Technology exists today that allows free and open travel of people, ideas, etc. You may complain your country is in bad shape but it's probably not as bad as the places some of these people are coming from. When people feel so desperate to simply survive, they will do anything to leave a hostile environment. It's kind of insane to check every person that enters for disease, do you realize how much time and resources that will require? It's hard enough just finding beds for everyone. Governments are very well capable of making the judgement if they can handle the costs necessary for securing the safety of their nation. Also bloodtests are pretty reliable for contagious diseases, they can collect blood and send them to several hospitals to get checked.

First you have to track down each and every migrant, find out how to identify them, assign them a medical worker, test them, send the samples to a lab, process the samples, and then somehow get all that information back to their case worker. By then they will have moved on, and none of them have permanent addresses. So to fix that you'd need to basically imprison them until the results come back, which would cost even more in terms of housing, food, etc. I don't know how to explain to you this simple fact but it's just not that simple. You have to pay lots and lots of people to do something as simple as carry out basic tests. It's not like they have a regular doctor they see, you have to set up entire facilities just to process them.
