>clear my calendar for 4 months so i can take part in this NASA design competition

then it seems that all of the team members have to be university students, however it says teams are two or more people so it may not be the one you're talking about.

One thing you could do is contact your university's engineering, physics, and math clubs and ask if they are interested in participating with you or at least sending out an ad on their mailing lists. You could also put up posters around your engineering department. I mean if you can't join an existing team then why not make your own?
