Seems very cool, though I don't really know what to say about it without knowing any more details. There are probably some neat uses for this, specifically if you could make multicellular organisms that were sort of like living creatures but more easily engineered, you could possibly "grow" devices instead of building them, which might be more resource-efficient. I'm thinking it might not be great to make something that eats aluminum, though, since that could undermine it's value of being corrosion resistant. Making bacteria that live off of copper or silver would be even worse, since those metals are specifically used to for their sterility.
