Your thoughts /sci/?

Personally, I'm kinda disappointed that NDT is going to be the host. He's cool alright, but he isn't really awe-inspiring and chill as fuck. I would love for someone like Patrick Stewart or Sam Harris to do it. What do you think?

Neil Patrick Harris, and the universe would be complete

>Sam Harris

That guy has, without any doubt, smoked a lot of shit up through his life.
It'd be cool to have him hosting.

>> No.3544306

NDT could be cool, but they shouldn't try to keep it in Cosmos' spirit, the guy has his own enthusiasm that I'm sure could be used to make a great series.

It'll never be as good as the original.

ill watch and make a judgement when the time is necessary

problem trolls?

>I don't think I understand how Seth MacFarlane can create Family Guy, love classic Broadway showtunes, bang Amanda Bynes in 2008, and know enough about space to do this. But what do I know? All I have are street smarts, a mild addiction to Whippits and a middle-school education.

The Brits already remade it with a new guy:

Its much better.

Who am I kidding, Brian Cox is a huge Sagan fanboy, he admitted Cosmos was inspiration for his own series

What? Harris is suited for rational discussion, not for making people gasp in awe.

False. /sci/ has had this thread a bunch of times already. They all agreed that Seth McFarlane is a great person to do this, because he is a huge Carl Sagan fan and and space fanatic who is much smarter than what his shows make him seem.

>> No.3544476

>>3544311

I'll make judgements now based on Seth's past work on Family guy, family guy two, and the Toothfairy
His shows have been based off of fast paced jokes and asides, and that's fine, but his shows work best for people who cant pay attention to something for more then 5 minutes, robot chicken and carl sagan seem to lack some synergy, ya naw meen?

>>3544471

Well put. Think about all of the music as well as famous people that show up in his Shows. Seth is an intellectual, with taste at that.

Also, inb4 homofaggots talk about the cocks of cox.

>> No.3544487

>>3544330

Not better, it does show the universe and he does go into detail, but it doesn't put you on the spot like Cosmos did.

Imo, the best part out of cosmos was when sagan was talking about earth/human subjects. Cosmos wasn't only an introduction to space and astrology, it was an introduction to the COSMOS and science.

I was sold when i saw the family guy episode when peter gets cured by stem cells and says: "Why aren't we funding this?"

Also, they constantly make fun of religions and nationalism, so it's ok with me.

In my mind Stephen Hawking's Universe will always be the true spiritual successor of Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

Even the names are similar.

Fox is not fox news. It's the same station that airs Family Guy and American Dad, which have a liberal bias. Cosmos isn't going to be turned into a show proving jesus is real and that intelligent design is relevant

NVM it's a whole series.

Wonders of the Solar System
Wonders of the Universe
Wonders of Life.

I thought the whole series was just wonders of the solar system.
