There's no imminent nuclear war unless NATO decides to go for a first strike -- which would happen, ironically, not because Putin is too aggressive but because he's too fucking soft. It's perfectly reasonable for NATO to calculate that a guy who can't even turn off the gas to countries that sanctioned him lacks the steely nerves required to push the button when he must.

I unironically believe that if America nuked a Russian city outside Moscow, Putin wouldn't do shit. And if America nuked Moscow itself, it would occur to Putin to retaliate on Washington DC, but he would lock up like a deer in headlights.
