its not an issue, dont worry. here is the essence from my point of view:
1. a basis is a set of vectors whose linear combinations get get you any vector of the space. the number of vectors in the basis is the dimension of the space.
2. systems of linear equations can have no, one, or infinitely many solutions. it has one solution if the determinant of the corresponding matrix is not 0, and infinitely many if the columns of the corresponding matrix are linear dependant vectors.
learn the other shit by heart, boom you pass the exam.
