>Two Philosophers Among New American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellows
>The new class of fellows was announced last month. Most of the 505 new fellows work in the sciences. The AAAS says that its fellows “are a distinguished cadre of scientists, engineers and innovators who have been recognized for their achievements across disciplines, from research, teaching, and technology, to administration in academia, industry and government, to excellence in communicating and interpreting science to the public.”

You can't debate the science settlers in AAAS, they will interpret the official science for us all, after all
>Roberta L. Millstein
>I am an Emerit Professor in the Department of Philosophy at UC Davis, retired from teaching but still researching; I am also affiliated with UCD's Science and Technology Studies (STS) Program. I co-run UCD's PhilBio Lab with Jim Griesemer. I am a AAAS Fellow (elected 2022)
>My research is in the philosophy of science, the history & philosophy of biology, and environmental ethics. I am particularly interested in evolutionary biology, ecology, and environmental issues, and the intersections between them.

>Alan C. Love
>I am Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Philosophy and Winton Chair in the Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, as well as Director of the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science.
>My research focuses on conceptual issues in biology and has concentrated on evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-devo), developmental biology, molecular biology, and paleontology (among others).

Interestingly, both seem to be very much into evolution.

Of course they chose the softest and lowest IQ science. Because they're too dumb for chemistry or physics where you need math.

I get butthurt when my discounted "science" is called out. cry more. you don't have enough IQ and will never be a physicists or mathematicians.

995 of modern physicists are redditor midwits who just repeat what is written on paper. You are not educated in a "discount" science, you have no experience at all. You should go back to fapping to NASA's latest colorized space photograph.

Bad sign. The physical sciences are running out of steam after having answered next to nothing. Pretty soon we'll be turning to priests and shaman. Well, at least we got smartphones.

Good job unlocking the mysteries of reality, dumbfucks.

>> No.15221193

The disciplines operating closest to the "bare metal" fundamental truths about reality are philosophers and mathematicians (who generally get along and have a decent amount of field overlap, by the way).

This makes physicists seethe, which is a net positive in all contexts.

Im deep ibto Phenomenology/Physiology/Metagenetics. These guys are on the right track. Atavism, Symbiosis, Hybridization, Lateral Gene Transfer. Evolution and the "Tree of Life" need an overhaul.

There is no such thing as "Junk DNA". Most Geneticists are Chemists in disguise...NOT Biologists.

The real killer is that there is no such thing as advancement, civilization has all been for nothing.

Getting rid of the risk of lions and tigers and securing food was good - everything else was a overkill. In a purely primitive society you wouldn't need or use smartphones. Smartphones is what has enabled the tinder generation, inceldom and other horrific fiascos.
