People really think this is an exaggerated cartoon, but people like this really do exist. Specially in degrees like physics.

I'm on (pure and applied) Mathematics myself, 4th year. And I talked to a 4th year physics friend about how we laughed in class (teacher himself too) that the fundamental theorem of algebra was actually an analysis theorem and that the name is just for historical reasons, and there's really not any algebra involved in a fundamental way regarding actually modern algebra.

A classmate of his was with him, and he became just like OP's pic.
>WELL BUT IT'S STILL ABOUT ALGEBRA
I replied 'Uh no, not really, what's funny is that it's proved by many methods of analysis, a partial result is basic analysis; and a full result is complex variables, and the theorem is on itself about polynomials which aren't fundamental in the theory of algebra but an important example.'
>BUT WE HAVE TO RESPECT THE NAME
'Um, why?' (I myself was wondering why someone who doesn't even study Math got so fed up about the name of a theorem he hasn't ever even proved.)

At this point he just repeated the same things and I think even he realized how ridiculous he was seething for no reason, in a topic he knew nothing about.

That's the image I have of "science fans", they are walking so_y_jak memes. I hope my experience enriches the experience for the deniers of this meme.

Your experience? What experience?
Next time you want to talk about an anecdote, post an anecdote, not fiction
People like this simply aren't real, that's all there is to it lol

You're naive or one of them yourself.

As a theoretical physics teen you have no idea how better /sci/ would be in the sharty

Nothing would be better on the sharty unless you enjoy having your thread spammed with gore of black people or being spammed with troonjaks because you didn't have the same opinion

I do not know, or care, about your eceleb drama and the state of /qa/ and the spinoff. I'm here only to tell you to go back.

>OHHHHH, CHUDSOIENT YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST OBSERVE THE UNIVERSE AND MEASURE THE POSITIONS OVERTIME TO CREATE ALGORITHM THAT PREDICTS VELOCITY AND GRAVITY OF THE STARS AND GALAXIES TO MAKE AVERAGE ACCURACY PREDICTION OF FUTURE UNIVERSE?
>WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BUNCH OF BULLSHIT, YOU ARE ALL NIGGAS LYING AND GETTING ME PISSED

No, you cannot measure the universe to the point you can know what will happen in 4 billion years. If civilization doesn't fall apart this arrogance is going to be really embarrassing in a century.
