hello /sci/, question

If I had a mansion with a basement, and in that basement was 1000 rooms and each room had a female slave captive.

If I got covid, and I coofed in the face of the female in room 1, and then next week I had her coof in the face of the female in room 2, and each week I repeated this.

5 months later could I go into room 20, and have the women in room 20 coof in my face to restore and update my covid antibodies from that strain?

As long as I keep covid circulating down there in that room, could I gradually prime my immune system and keep it up to date with antibodies?

Would this have any medical affect?

catching and defeating a virus does improve your immunity to it yes, but it also forces the virus to mutate. there are thousands of strains of covid and your antibodies will only be partially effective at combating what later version you recieve in 5 months, or so on.

This isn't 5 months of a virus in the wild population, this is 20 transmissions from person to person, surely not enough to mutate it to the level that I can't reprime my antibodies

that's kind of my point. your antibodies will only get "primed" against that specific strain, meanwhile other strains may posess advantages you aren't adapted to. you're basically describing a natural vaccine, which is only effective to a certain extent. there's a reason they have to make a new one for the common flu every season.

ah that makes sense
ok

So it would make more sense for this hypothetical billionaire to have someone abduct a covid positive person for him once every few months and farm his antibodies?

better for the billionaire to just not get sick in the first place.

natural immunity anecodtally seems to have longer lasting resistance than most vaccines to covid, but this is just academic when you consider things like the omicron wave which was insanely good at overcoming all immunities. this natural vaccine idea is limited by the randomness of the strain you end up developing a resistance too, unlike a vaccine which can be intelligently tailored at our best guess for future mutations. but the fact is both of these are temporary aids. the best immunity is gained by a healthy diet, physical fitness, and probably some extra vitamin d and zinc.

Not to mention natural immunity comes with the caveat that you may have had a severe infection to acquire it.
