What would you do then? My first thought would be learning more math and physics on my own and go to conferences for a couple of years at least and get well positioned with money and charisma to end up being tenured somewhere good.

1M is just not enough to really thrive in today's society

Move to a small cabin in the woods and learn as much as I can about math and sciences.

Pic not related.

I already have an area scoped out and work lined up to do it, the work is extremely labor intensive. But I won't pull the trigger until I have a significant amount of money.

1mil alone isnt enough, but 1mil invested can have you living off that investment comfortably.

Like in Doge or?

I'm asking because I happened to make some smart investments in the last few months and I might make it big by the end of the year.

Don't fall for the cryptomeme. Invest in ETFs such as the S&P

You could go to live in a cheaper country with that amount of money and have a decent life without worrying about having to work for many years. I guess the trick would be not wanting a big mansion, a sports car or the latest iFag shit.

Do my own research without having to cater to the fragile egos of the academics in prestigious positions.
