This. I cannot remember the last time I bought a physical textbook

I'm old school. I like the physical textbook. Also, it really bothers me that if we go to an all digital library that someone can just delete books they don't like out of the library.

It is perhaps more of a worry that IRL libraries are susceptible to not carrying books that contain wrong-think. I think the digital world of textbooks is less prone to such censorship, certainly-so in the piracy world. My textbooks will be on my hard drive forever, that is, unless there is some sort of catastrophe that obliterates the powergrids and make me incapable of using my computer. Physical textbooks are nice, but the ability to *ctrl+f* and save money makes the PDF textbooks the superior option.

What's a good e-reader for textbooks?

>> No.12610514

Just use any PDF reader as most textbooks should be in PDF format. Stay away from epub, it's garbage for textbooks. I prefer to read PDFs on my large computer monitor but I know some who prefer to read on a tablet to emulate the size of a book. I use sumatraPDF but feel free to use another software, preferably with highlighting or stylus use so you can notate and add markings to the PDF.

What a fucking joke. The math section is either research monographs or pop math books.
The best book there is an introduction to analysis by gunning, and it's 18 dollars after discount. Which I would consider a fair price before discount.
