I am a researcher in the robotics field and work on autonomous aircraft. I can’t talk much about recent math and physics discoveries as this is not my field. I think my own field is to nerdy to make interesting threads. That’s why I am only lurking.

I work on helicopters, which are supposed to carry real humans except there is no pilot. It is said that due to the demographic decline, people outside the cities will have insufficient healthcare infrastructure and need to be flown into the city in case of an emergency. Autonomous rescue helicopters are intended to reduce the enormous costs of such an endeavor.
My part is the automatic path and maneuver planning to avoid collisions and start/land them safely and in accordance to the manual. They need to be fully integrated into the air traffic.
It will take some years until our institute can show a product thou, because it is not a simple drone and we need to make the system safe enough to get an admission from the authorities.
